Electrocardiography Exams

An electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) records the electrical activity of your pet’s heart. Many heart conditions show no outward signs or symptoms early on, making ECG testing a valuable tool, especially for senior pets, at-risk breeds, or pets undergoing anesthesia.

We utilize Midmark multi-parameter monitors to provide comprehensive anesthetic monitoring, including blood pressure, ECG, end-tidal CO₂, pulse oximetry, temperature, and an esophageal stethoscope.

Along with X-rays, ultrasound imaging, and ECGs, our team also uses other diagnostic tools to get a full picture of your pet’s condition. They include:

• CT/CAT machine: This specialized machine for computed tomography (CT) scans uses computerized X-ray imaging to take detailed images of your pet. These images offer veterinarians an exceptional level of detail that isn’t possible with X-rays alone. This technology allows us to identify tooth root disease, brain tumors, and nasal polyps. The CT is also useful in evaluating complex fractures.
• : An endoscope is a small tube that has a camera and a light on it. It is guided into the animal to examine portions of the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract. Endoscopy is often used to look for lesions, take biopsies of diseased tissue for further evaluation, and get in-depth information to guide diagnostics or sometimes remove foreign bodies.
• In-house lab: Sometimes, your pet may require blood work or a urinalysis to help determine a diagnosis. We have an on-site lab with high-tech equipment that helps our team quickly narrow down the cause of your pet’s symptoms. We can provide full blood tests, screenings for parasites, and tests for conditions like feline leukemia virus (FeLV), feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV), parvovirus, and cytologies such as ear and skin cytology to help identify bacterial or yeast infections. Because these tests are done on-site, we receive results quickly and begin treatment sooner.
